It is ironic how we begin our journey to accomplish success to build our own identity, but we somehow in end up losing our selves ( own identity) in this journey. I can relate to this post so much as I was born in Nepal and grew up in India, As I was growing up I struggled with similar things. Especially with languge, educational challenge, discrimination and prejudice and cultural values. It is surprising even when both the country have similar cultural views to an extent . In schools and community never felt welcomed and always felt judged. It is always a struggle to balance parents' cultural expectations with those of the dominant culture of the new country. Experiencincing conflicts between family traditional values and the values of the peers and teachers is common.
