THE KINDNESS PROJECT

The Kindness Project_edited.jpg

The Kindness Project is a social arts project with aims to create a statement- to bring back kindness into our society. As we live in a world where everything is commodified, random act of kindness are often incentivised through commodity, whether it be for popularity, financial returns, or altruistic reputations. With so much noise going on, it is no wonder humans forget what being human is about - genuine connection.

To bring forth this positive moment, we will be organising a humanistic project that is NOT- incentivised, but to promote act of kindnesses to strangers - without promoting any organisation, brands, or ask of favours. To stay true to our values and practice what we preach, our funders and project organisers will be kept anonymous. We are simply providing a platform that allows people to connect with each other and meet likeminded people sharing a common goal of improving our society.

This project bands together community members from the heart of Sydney to give out compliments to strangers, and handing out free postcards (with no ads or promotions) that features hand written kindness messages and kindness filled activities. We want to use this project as an opportunity to showcase that random act of kindness can be genuine, and not another marketing trend filled with commodified motives.

We already live in a world with too much going on, with heightened stress and deteriorations to mental health. Let’s bring some colours and show the world that humans are capable of so much more, including enrichment of our lives, others, and the society around us.

This is not an event. This is not a promotion. This is a statement. A social movement. An artistic moment.

The Kindness Project was supervised, and mentored by Tidus Artorius - Clinical Psychotherapist, and Marie Agapito - Social Worker. The community will be meeting up for this social arts activity in the Sydney CBD. There is no goal, besides showcasing random act of kindness that humans are capable of. Besides that, it is a social gathering made to be fun, light-hearted, form new connections, while doing something amazing together in person. We call this 'The Kindness Project'.
